concept of
Just War and its relevant theory as explained and argued by St.
Augustine and later by St. Aquinas. The writer also discusses
some foundations of this theory in the works of Classic Greek
and Roman philosophers as well. Just War during the Roman
Empire is compared extensively to Just War during the Middle
Ages. The writer concludes with a thoughtful opinion on the
injustices of war in general-- except when used as a last resort
in the manner specified by Aquinas. Augustine is denounced
for his support of a justifiable "unconditional" war and for
doctrines which were clearly influenced by the State. No

Languages Applicability To Metaphysics : A 5
page paper
discussing whether language is necessary in conjunction with
metaphysics. Metaphysics is rooted in cause and effect;
myriad books and articles have been written to discuss the role
of language. If it has no part in cause and effect, then it also
can have no part in metaphysics.. This is a dispute in
metaphysics, and so necessarily must result either in language
being necessary or not. The paper concludes that language is
necessary for judging validity of statements, but that a more
important aspect is that of sound logic. Bibliography lists 4

Nietzsches The
Antichrist : A 25 page argumentative
essay on the issues and Frederich Nietzsches predictions
surrounding pity, negation, nihilism, and science on the
antichrist in society (all who are not Christian). The writer
argues that some of Nietzsches points were valid for the
antichrist, particularly as they relate to pity, negation and near
annihilation. And, while there is little evidence that the
development of science suffered from Christianity in this
century, as posited, many of the people who perform the acts of
science are just as Nietzsche would predictempty voids
without intrinsic instincts or senses about their actions. The
paper concludes that despite the books emotional and circular
format and sporadic truths, it has value for at least one group of
readersthe one for which it was written, the Hyperboreans.
