This paper, the student should  note, should propose to do several things: present the problem of legislating morality, explain why an alternative view is better, show a counter argument and dispel it, and then offer  a better and more viable solution. For example, the student, in compiling their paper, could state that since mans fall from the Garden of Eden he has been contemplating  how to control the actions of others. Laws and legislation seems to have been the answer that was arrived upon, but in the end, this seems to only put a  BandAid on the problem. Secondly, legalizing euthanasia there will be innumerable benefits economically, emotionally, and perhaps even spiritually. Some debate this viewpoint by stating that legalizing Euthanasia could lead to  widespread social control, much like Hitler introduced in Germany. However, most do not overreact in this manner and realize that agreed upon guidelines must be put into place to prevent  abuses. RATIONALE FOR LEGALIZING EUTHANASIA: The rationale for legalizing euthanasia, this paper will show, is based upon economics, and the desire of the population to have the law against euthanasia  abolished. The law is antiquated and based upon religious concepts developed centuries before. THESIS: This paper holds that euthanasia and the ability to do with ones own body what  one desires should be as inherent a right as life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The right not to suffer any longer than is necessary is not only a  humane and decent act, but it is an act which clearly indicates an appreciation and celebration of life.
