Introduction The workplace often entails the juggling of a multitude of responsibilities. It is not uncommon  for some of these responsibilities to fall by the wayside as one scrambles to complete others. When this happens, however, there is sometimes much at stake. Not only  is the organizational mission challenged but so too is the employees status within that organization. The purpose of this paper is to review a case study where an employee  has not fulfilled his commitment to take care of certain organizational charges. Background  Recently hired as the campus recruiter for ABC, Inc. Carl Robins has been charged with recruiting fifteen new hires and preparing for  their training. His supervisor, Monica, has counted on Robins to get the job done and he has failed to follow through with her directions. Just over two weeks  before the new hires are to arrive for their first day of training Robins discovers that not only are their application packets incomplete, they have not been tested for drugs  and the training room that he had counted on using in their orientation is booked by another employee.  Alternatives There are several possible courses of action that Robbins could pursue in rectifying this situation. Some, however, are  more advantageous than others. He could just ignore the situation, for example, and wait till the new recruits arrive to inform Monica that there have been no preparations made
