    Number of Pages: 6

    Summary of the research paper:

This paper evaluates the long distance driving performance of the 2002 Honda Civic, 2002 Toyota Corolla, and 2002 Dodge Neon. The author addresses safety, comfort, reliability, and how the automobiles compare to travel by air, rail, or bus. This six page paper has three sources listed in the bibliography.

The purpose here is to examine the 2002 Toyota Corolla Sedan CE, 2002 Honda Civic Sedan DX and 2002 Dodge Neon Sedan for the performance they can be expected  to give in long-distance driving away from cities except perhaps for passing through them. Americans already had been driving more for both short- and long-range trips before the terrorist  attacks of September 11, 2001, but the result of the hugely negative effect of the attacks on the US airline industry has been that individuals are choosing to drive long  distances now rather than fly. The purpose here is to choose the best of the three car models mentioned above, for the purpose not of tooling around in city  traffic, but for routine use in driving long distances. Background As stated, Americans already were  driving more than in past years before the terrorist attacks of September 11. All airline traffic was stopped for three days following the attacks, and those holding tickets for  air travel for the next several weeks canceled those tickets by the hundreds. Thousands of scheduled passengers were unwilling to board commercial aircraft when those investigating the origins of  the attacks had been unable to determine what parts of various airports security systems had been compromised. After airline schedules regained some sense of normalcy, the added time involved  in passing through security inside the terminal resulted in so much time being added to that required to complete a trip that short trips frequently were more time efficient when  accomplished on the ground. Criteria Adding the effects of the terrorist attacks to an already-growing
