That Africas economy depends upon locally produced commodities, such as vanilla, sugar, cocoa and palm oil, speaks to  the aspect of modernized techniques that are being developed as a means by which to create such commodities faster, cheaper and within "laboratories or non-traditional environments" (Technology-Africa: Globalization and the  Information Age). Indeed, while much of the rest of the world looks longingly toward the prospect of globalization, African farmers and the rest of the population are seeing nothing  short of economic destruction. Primary to the challenges facing Africa due to globalization is destroying the very nature of equitable commerce. Ethics,  business, government and global society must work in tandem or there is no purpose for any of its existence. Unethical practices are what ultimately create a situation such as  that which exists in Africa, as well as create a climate of economic and political contempt. One can readily surmise that establishing such ethical fortitude is not a difficult  objective if commerce maintains a moral and conscientious outlook. The issue of globalization is a hot potato amidst underdeveloped nations where conventional labor and methods are readily - and  sometimes exclusively - employed; the extinction of such practices for the supposed improvement of the global community has rendered Africa a victim of technological progress.
