    are not receiving a lot of support for much of our economic policy and our problems with Iraq, it could be that the next thirty years is going to be  one of great change. This paper discusses much of what might be expected in the next thirty years or so in the United States. ECONOMICS While the United  States has undoubtedly seen a volatile stock market in the past few months, many feel it will just be a matter of time before things right themselves again and the  United States will once again be an economic power. This might not necessarily be so. One wonders what might happen to the UK economy in the next  two to three years, after observing its performance for the most recent three years. Even more interesting is what might the economical performance of the UK be in the  years 2020 through 2030, relative to its current performance? While it is a well-known fact that one cannot accurately predict future economical performances that far in advance, nor can  one consider that current performance is the most important factor on which to base an educated guess. For that is all it would be: an educated guess. Economic  trends have an unfortunate history of never continuing long enough to base a true prediction on their outcome. The outlook should be a bright one if the UK and Japan  carry on the same type of positive relationship that it looks like they will have. In a meeting together, "Mr. Hashimoto and Mr. Blair said that the two Governments  would deepen their global cooperation, working for a better world as they enter the 21st century" (Common Vision 1998, PG).
