    and there has been some success in promoting personal interests in this area (339). One example is that charismatic leaders and Machiavellians utilize interactional expressive behaviors as well as emotional  regulation that is targeted toward influencing others and so both manifest confidence and conviction (339). It should also be noted that Machiavellianism can be seen as a cluster of  cynical beliefs regarding human nature, morality, and the acceptability of using a variety of manipulative tactics in order to satisfy ones goals (OConnor and Morrison 301). Some who have  studies the concept have emphasized that individuals who are high in terms of Machiavellianism, manipulation and opportunism also possess a great degree of saliency (301). These people may be prone  to interpret actions and events in political terms and so the relationship between Machiavellianism and perceptions of organizational politics has only been partially examined (301). Still, many people see this  in their own lives. They may bring up a subject and another individual politicizes it. They may say that they are taking their child to get immunizations and another may  remark that the state is responsible for such laws that do not allow parents a choice in the matter. Yet, the individual who is actually involved in the situation really  is not thinking politically but practically. Tolerance and ambiguity are also implicit in the concept of Machiavellianism (Moore and Ward 415). The individual in some way appears not to be  political, but the underlying tone often gives them away. Generally speaking, the Machiavellian personality seems to be "on" all the time, even though many may not realize this. As  a dimension of personality, Machiavellianism has been utilized to categorize individuals in terms of the idea that persuasive, manipulative behaviors help to achieve personal goals (Gable and Dangello
