    _ . Alternatives for  Municipal Waste - March 1999 paper properly! With all of the problems we are experiencing in this  country, in relationship to issues such as overpopulation and pollution, it comes as no surprise that the issue of municipal waste is a very serious issue. While it is true  that many individuals and communities are recycling our waste products, most of the country is not doing so and most of the manufacturers are not going to any great lengths  to reuse any recycled materials. We can see this in the plastic bottles we purchase milk and other products. While all of these products are recyclable, there is really very  little market for the plastic and it essentially is housed in warehouses or tossed out, never to be recycled. We can see this in closely examining any plastic bottle we  buy. All we have to do is look at the contents of most plastic bottles such as for shampoo, lotion, juices, and milk, and we will see that generally these  bottles use no recycled products. This is just one of our problems with the waste issues in this country. Somehow we know there is more that can be done, but  without the devoted implementation of the municipal waste services, there is little that can be done. In light of this fact we turn to what this particular industry is doing,  or hoping to do, in regards to implementing new ideas for waste disposal. The majority of municipal solid waste that is generated in the United States has traditionally been deposited
