one in real life are different animals. Elaines boss was a bit of a reactionary and someone who would, on a whim, do this or that. The real John Peterman
is not that flighty, though he did base his business on gut feeling, his own personal style and instincts in the world of retail, something with which he had no
prior acquaintance. With no experience, Peterman managed to thrive in a difficult business, but with little planning and a few mistakes, the company headed into bankruptcy. A student writing on
