can aid clinicians in evaluating the validity of qualitative research studies. These factors are credibility, transferability, dependability and confirmability (Trochim, 2006). Credibility refers to whether or not the results  of the research are "credible or believable" when viewed from the perspective of a study participant (Trochim, 2006). Since qualitative research is primarily concerned with comprehending specific phenomena from  the participants perspective, the participants themselves are considered to be the best evaluators of credibility (Trochim, 2006).
