    out reports of such behaviour we may then uses these and code them in the way that the actions are presented and perceived. To consider this we will use the  example of an article on graffiti. Graffiti may be seen as a social problem, creating a mess with vandalism of a wall  of smooth area by those with no respect for cleanliness of the status quo. To those unused to this type of express it may also create fear, with feeling of  repression or anger that can lead to further actions. Moreover, it is often undertaken in a manner that is against the local byelaws, and as such it is also a  manifestation of a resistant, disregard or total defiance of authority, and it is this aspect that may be seen as most worrying by those walking through or living by the  area. Therefore this is a standard type of social problem that can be investigated., However, with an introduction such as this we may code this as a critical statement, this  may be seen as a critique of social class and stereotyping of those that commit it and the victims. When looking at graffiti to comment and understand it we  need to look at what it means in a social context, to understand the reasons for its appearance, what it symbolises. In doing this we may adjust our own attitude  and reconsider the role it has to play. In stating this type of view there is a more project approach, and the coding may be seen as more of a  social critique. Graffiti is seen as new phenomenon, manifesting in the last century, part from odd acts of daubing a slogan on a wall. However, graffiti has been around
