    valuable; this approach was to undertake an in-depth literature review of auditing issues that have been raised and the way that they have been addressed as a result of the  credit crunch in the article "Crunch time for bank audits? Questions of practice and the scope for dialogue". The approach taken by the  office is an in-depth picture to review, which means that this is based on research undertaken by others, rather than the office undertaken primary research on their own part. The  paper is very clearly defined in terms of the aims of the paper, the methodology which is utilized as well it as the findings.  When considering the methodology there are some advantages and disadvantages in adopting this approach, which are reflected in a quality of the results are presented.  For any area of study, especially one where there is a fast-changing environment with changing influential factors it is important not only to undertake primary research,  but to periodically assess ongoing research which is has been taking place in order to create a solid foundation for further research and to correlate the wealthy reports into a  single source, with the idea that a correlated paper may bring together different ideas and be worth more than the sum of its parts.  In terms of the auditing profession, in the context of banks and existing credit crunch, it may be argued that this is a very dynamic subject with a  high level of research taking place, in a fast-changing environment. Although there were many commentators expected there to be a credit crunch,
