period of time when Aboriginal children were stolen and placed into mainstream white culture. The paper uses singer Archie Roach as the primary focus. Roach was a victim and had  been taken from his family in 1958. The paper looks at events in historical context and argues that this event is one in a larger chasm of global racism.  Bibliography lists 5 sources. SA145Aus.rtf The event to reconstruct the population in Australia, and mainstream the aboriginals, is something that many  see as unique. Yet, a student writing on this subject might want to suggest that this is part of an overall attempt by man to create a master race. Racism  is a fact of life. Although many suggest it is socially constructed-and in fact it probably is-the idea that the kidnapping of Aboriginals during the middle of the twentieth century  was unique, does not stand. The horrific events are part of a grander scheme where revolutionaries and madmen converge to form groups which come up with certain irrational schemes. Throughout  history there have been people such as Hitler who have been able to recruit men and force them to kill innocent people for eugenics sake. In more recent times, there  is what is known as ethnic cleansing going on in smaller nations. While the practice is abhorrent it is not a unique, one time event. Even during World War II,  the Japanese were captured in the United States. Of course, a student writing on this subject will want to point out that the Japanese internment was a reaction of fear  to Japan, and in no way mimics anything done regarding eugenics. Still, it represents a reaction to a people and indeed, what happened in Australia is one that was reactionary.
