    The overall mission of this paper will be to analyze whether the Bombay Excelsior (a hotel in Bombay, India) should add a gym center to its other offerings. Well examine  this question from a financial and strategic issue. Financial Data and Background - Bombay Excelsior The Bombay Excelsior is a four-star  international hotel in Coloba, Bombay in India. The hotel is near many Buddhist and Hindu temples, as well as other wonders of the world, including the local aquarium, a race  course, the harbor and the world-famous Hanging Gardens. Other amenities include parking, five restaurants, a casino, a swimming pool and health club, executive business center, shopping arcade near by and  24-hour room service. Though the Bombay Excelsior is in an industry with very high barriers to entry (due to lack of  land on which other hotels could be built), the hotel isnt doing so well. An analysis of the sales activity has shown a drop in corporate travelers from 52.5% to  47.1%. The other sectors, however (groups, tours, meetings, contracts and independent) are doing well. Its suggested that maybe some emphasis be placed on luring back the corporate traveler, as these  are the folks who tend to spend the most money at the hotel (the expense account is taking care of it, which is why).  But the hotel itself is falling into some problems. There are complaints from guests regarding basic services such as slow elevators. Much of this was blamed on an  earthquake that had hit the area during the previous summer. However, the Asia Pacific manager sent a report, in which he stated that both the customer satisfaction ratings were not
