The intent of this paper is to asses the behavioral support needs of a fictional six year old child as they are evidenced during his weekly  soccer meet. That child, Brydon Baker, suffers from autism. This paper will present fictional data on his communicative needs and of the changes in his behavior that were  noted after measures were implemented to address those needs. These measures were designed around the hypothesis that:  By targeting specific communication skills in a play group type environment that childs interactions with others both inside that playgroup and outside could be improved.  As Quill (2000) emphasizes, communication skills are among the most important skills needed to accomplish this.  A Quill Assessment on Brydon reveals several aspects of his behavior that run counter to effective communication. To address Brydons needs a functional communication program will be designed  and implemented over six consecutive one hour soccer practice sessions. The sessions during which Brydons behavior will be assessed are held  every week on Fridays. During the first two of these practice sessions baseline data will be collected to document how Brydon spontaneously socializes with his teammates during the practice  sessions prior to behavioral intervention. This assessment will be structured as a Quill assessment and will gauge how attentive Brydon is in listening to his coach, how much distance  he maintains between himself and other teammates during free time, the degree to which he positively verbalizes, and the degree to which he negatively verbalizes.
