15 pages and 12 sources used. This paper considers the nature of human communities from their earliest formation. This paper creates a comparison between the ancient societies of Beruit and Cairo and their modern counterparts. As a result, much can be learned from the ancient cultures of Beruit and Cairo. The histories of these two countries provide some similarities that are important to understanding the transformation of these cities over time.
