JGAinlog.rtf International Logistics in Business Research Compiled for Enterprises  Inc. 10/2001 to Use This Paper Properly, INTRODUCTION Logistics has become a field of its own  and many schools and workplaces now offer specialized training in the field of logistics. Logistics is now in a field by itself due to the importance it plays in the  bottom line impact on corporations. With the supporting data such as information technology and software, logistics planning is becoming increasingly in demand in the business venue. THE LOGISTICS  OF INTERNATIONAL EXPANSION "Businesses when entering foreign markets must Think Globally, Act Locally, effectively using the concept of the international product life cycle, and improve value chain activities to sustain  their competitive advantages"1. In order to be accepted into the international market, American business must abide by the rules and customs as set forth by the culture of that country;  in spite of the fact that many countries have had a slowed economy in the past few years, that does not mean that American-based commerce is not still thriving.  In fact, many corporations, McDonalds included, are experiencing "strong sales and creating new jobs"2 for most of their international markets. Part of this can be attributed to the fact  that all outside business ventures are bound by the requirements of each country in which they conduct business, with special emphasis upon environmental and distribution issues. For instance, in  Israel because of the kosher preferences of the inhabitants there, they prefer to not mix meat and dairy in the same kitchen; hence, a McDonalds cheeseburger would have no place
