    background, Jacob had taken over the Latin American sales district of the company, and in doing so, went over some of the old files left by past sales reps. In  follow-up, Jacob learned about a number of accidents that had occurred almost seven years earlier as the direct result of a failed liner within several Richardson products, but no assurance  that the problem would be fixed. His boss, however, recommended he remain silent until the seven year statute of limitations passed, as a new liner was being developed.  But there were problems with the old liner, and they continued. To top it off, Jacob received a job offer from another company  with more money (and stronger ethics), but his wife, who was pregnant with their first child, flatly didnt want to move because she didnt want to leave her family. Adding  to all of that were rumors about potential takeover of Richardson with management Jacob didnt particularly agree with. On the one hand,  Jacob must deal with remaining at his current job at a company with dubious ethical standards in order to please his wife. On the other, he must decide if he  wants to take a job with another company that has higher ethics, but risk upsetting his wife greatly. Identify the ethical issues in this case  Before answering this question, it would first be helpful to determine what, exactly, the concept of ethics, or dishonesty and ethics, might be. Defining this here will  also help us answer the other questions as well. Scott and Jehn (2005) end up presenting a prototype definition of dishonesty by
