Conclusion Introduction  There are few professions or careers today that can be described as being "wide open" to a wide range of individuals with varying  degrees of experience and widely ranging educational backgrounds. Web development is one of them, and it promises only to become more common as time progresses.  We appear to be past the days in which web pages are merely electronic business cards. Internet commerce is beginning to come into its own; businesses  increasingly rely on intranets to keep employees linked to each other and to customers; and users generally expect much more from a web page than in the past (Morse, 2002).  These and other conditions serve to keep web development as a continually-evolving career area (Web Database Development Step By Step). Venue  Differences The fact that web development will be a viable career option for several years to come is not a matter of debate  in todays Internet environment. The greatest point of debate surrounding web development as a career is whether an employment situation or free-lancing is a better position from which to  work. Salary Comparing the two on salary is difficult, for a freelancers income largely is  determined by the freelancer himself. As an employee, it is of course determined by the employer and the area in which the job, employer and employee all are located.
