STRATEGIES  FUNCTIONAL: Toyotas current strategy continues to be to not hold vast amounts of inventory on hand. It has been shown that inventory depreciates in value even as it lies  in wait to be used. For this reason Toyota is more concerned with a just-in-time type of inventory management. CORPORATE: Toyota prefers to utilize current employee creativity in order  to best gain the insight and knowledge of their most important asset: their human resources. Rather than assigning tasks that work to prevent problems Toyota goes one step further  and works to implement new ideas. BUSINESS: That Toyota is constantly aware of their competition and how to stay ahead of it is an understatement. Toyota strives to be  far ahead of the competition in terms of new ideas, technology and innovation. Toyota has proven in the past that they work well this way, and they continue to  utilize those management tools that worked so well for them then but at the same time they keep their minds open for creative new ways to improve their techniques.  SWOT ANALYSIS Strengths: Toyota is currently Japans largest auto manufacturer and is the third largest auto manufacturer in the world. Because Toyota does not depend on what the competitors  are doing and they rely on their own innovative approach to business, Toyota is not slowed by simply trying to keep up with everyone else. Toyota stays ahead of  its competition by using their methods of creative thinking to improve design and technology, no matter how far out it might seem at the time. Toyota has become one
