They may have similarities and thus incite the worker to look to specific types of practice theories, but for the most part each case presents its own unique set  of circumstances that must be evaluated within their own context using these practice theories. The student requesting this paper has provided a case study which is to be examined as  it relates to different practice theories. The following paper discusses the case study and the answers the questions as they relate to practice theories in the field of social work.  The Case Study This particular case study involves a woman with a child. When this boy was quite young his father was killed in a motorcycle accident. This accident  left the mother quite unable to approach her duties as a mother. At this point her mother came into the picture and helped her take care of her son. And,  when the boys grandmother went back to her home he was upset with his mother. Apparently this boy was, according to his mother, quite a handful and the mother never  felt up to dealing with him or the death of her husband. She was on antidepressants and merely seemed to go through her days attending to only physical needs related  to herself and her son. Then she met a man whom she married. They had another child and her first born was essentially pushed aside, and verbally abused by  the new father. The mother was still unable, it seems, to care for her son and she never really sat with him and discussed his problems with the death of  his father. This tension began to show at school and the teachers became concerned with the boys problems and his progress in school. They suggested that she meet with a
