Hamot Medical Center, the Erie-based medical organization is a part of Hamot Health Foundation, a synthesized system  of quality health care and community health services that currently makes itself available to more than 1 million residents in northwestern Pennsylvania, western New York and eastern Ohio.  Today, the Hamot facility is a fully equipped, 467-bed tertiary care facility that offers state-of-the-art, all-inclusive, and comprehensive health care. Moreover, this medical center is supported/ operated by  an active staff of in excess of 200 physicians that represents most primary medical specialties. In addition, more than 2,000 nurses, technologists, therapists, and other medical personnel are supported  by the hundreds of volunteers from the Hamot Board of Corporators, and the Hamot Aid Society (History of Hamot, 2001).
