    a meeting with his new boss Pat who gives him business cards with the hospitals mission statement on the back, which reads: "With the foundation and commitment of our spiritual  heritage and values, our mission is to promote the health and well-being of the people in the communities we serve through a comprehensive continuum of services provided in collaboration with  the partners who share the same vision and values." This of course implies that all employees of the hospital concur with this mission statement. While they claim to abide by  it, the problem has come in terms of interpretation. Different staff members belie that different actions are in the best interests of the community. Yet, while the mission statement seems  fine enough, the CEO begins to point out all the problems that the hospital has had, beginning with a news headline that suggests hospitals make many medical mistakes. This is  a general statement but will of course have a public relations impact for the hospital. The problem is exacerbated by the religious ties that the hospital has. Because it is  affiliated with a religion, some doctors have refused to do perform certain tasks, and some patients have refused certain forms of medical treatment. Other interpretations concern the DNR as nurses  are not respecting the wishes of patients. One can see that the nurses, doctors and patients each have personal religious beliefs which sometimes interfere with treatment. The problem is that  while the hospital wants to respect the rights of individuals, and the values that the staff has, it is also subject to law. People can sue when someone dies or  does not receive treatment. Hence, there are sticky situations that have erupted at the facility. Child Protective services had taken custody of a baby because of the way in which
