basis of prevention when it comes to breast cancer by administering tamoxifen and raloxifene as a means by which to prohibit the development of cancerous cells. Theoretic framework is  also shared between and among the four articles by providing the following hypothesis: Can the approach of chemopreventive treatment help to deter the incidence of breast cancer in high-risk women  without causing other cancers? Findings illustrate how a forty- to fifty-percent reduction of breast cancer is being attributed to tamoxifen, while raloxifene -- typically prescribed for osteoporosis -- can  also reduce the incidence of breast cancer in high-risk women but not to the extent of tamoxifen (Meister, 1998). Levine et al (2001) note, however, that these chemopreventive drugs  are not meant for low- or normal-risk women due to the fact that not enough research has been conducted to determine contradictory side effects from treatment. Dalton et al  (2001) point out that while tamoxifen is both well-tolerated and apparently effective at reducing breast cancer in high-risk women, it "continues to be associated with an increased risk of endometrial  cancer" (pp. 7-15). Dalton et al (2001) also concur with Levine et al (2001) by warning of the inadequate research findings attributable to raloxifene, which, as a "promising agent"  (pp. 7-15), falls far behind tamoxifen in any use other than clinical trials. When discussing such study criteria as variables, measuring tools, results, findings and strengths/weaknesses, the student will take  example from the following extrapolation of the Levine et al (2001) article. For example, Levine et al (2001) note how baseline risk factor variables present physicians with significant challenges  when it comes to patient assessment. Measurement tools used for this particular article include those used in the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project P-1 Study, which "included
