Pemberton never  knew the success of his invention as he died in 1888, and it was following this that Asa Griggs Candler, the first CEO of Coca Cola secure the rights and  had the vision to develop the product into a business. The business has seen many changes and from a modest nine servings  a day the firm now sells 1.6 billion servings a day across more than 200 countries, supported by more than 92,000 employees (Coca-Cola, 2009).  The success is not all based in the Coca-Cola beverage, there has been some diversification into other beverages, such as the Minute Maid range of product, A&W, Five  Alive, Dasani, and Pibb, the company has also recently bought a monitory interest in Innocent Drinks, makers of fruit smoothies mainly in the UK.  However, the core product remains coca cola, and diet coke, and to assess the way that the firm may choose to move forward a SWOT matrix  may be used to assess potential strategies.
