    and in fact, various types of communication also foster interaction between other living things. Animals too communicate in a variety of ways. They do not take courses as much of  their communication is from instinct. However, in this complicated world, it is sometimes difficult for human beings to communicate due to psychological, social and political barriers. The systems that humans  create to live in sometimes do get complicated and a communications course can help to open doors and foster interaction. In taking a course on interaction and communication, a  lot may be learned that is applicable in the course of ordinary life as well as in respect to careers. In the course of daily life, communication comes in the  form of personal communication all the way to mass communication. While interpersonal communication and skills involved in that area relate to job seeking or cultivating a permanent romantic relationship--and all  the pertinent things in life--mass media does have messages that it sends and such is relevant in understanding what is conveyed in this manner. There has been much said about  media and mass communication and in fact a lot of criticism has been lodged on this front. The media imperialism critique for example argues that instead of creating progress in  the Third World, the mass media instead perpetuates a relationship of dependency and domination between developing countries and industrialized nations which directly serves imperialist interests of the dominant countries (Hayes,  1993). And while there is criticism on a large scale, on a smaller scale there is certainly the critique that media as it involves advertising molds the desires of the  people. It creates an artificial desire for things and has caused the society to become more materialistic. The media also shapes political ideas and with its sound bites, and less
