from the crowded cities, and in fact, the 2000 Census reveals that a second wave of white flight is occurring in more modern times (2002). The causes are complex and  disputable (2002). William H. Frey for example who coined the term "new white flight" sees that there is a dispersal accelerating to outer suburbs and, regionally, to an even  whiter Sunbelt (2002). Frey contends that such a relocation is not only a flight from immigrants or minorities, but also has to do with economics (2002). The high cost of  city living has propelled people to pack and he contends that the movement will supersede its postwar predecessor in creating wider regional separation of the countrys mostly suburban white areas  from the more urban minority populations (2002).
