Calvln and Christine Brown founded and operate a motel and offer overnight parking for campers and truckers traveling along the portion of Interstate 75 that takes travelers through south  Georgia and into Florida. There is little in the area that could be construed as any sort of tourist destination; virtually all travelers staying at the motel or campground  are seeking a single nights accommodations on their way to somewhere else. SWOT Analysis Strengths * Calvln and Christine Brown are natives of the area in which they operate their  motel. * Their Congress Motel was successful prior to the international oil crisis of 1973-74, which for a time greatly adversely affected travel on I-75 and throughout the country. *  I-75 is a major route to Florida from northern Midwest origins such as Michigan and Illinois, as well as Canada. The motel still has repeat business in the form  of the "snowbirds" from the north who spend their winters in Florida and summers in the north. * Except for the 1973-74 period, the trailer park has increased revenues consistently  over time. Weaknesses * Neither Calvln nor Christine Brown have any experience in the hospitality industry. * Occupancy has declined steadily over time and the Browns have been aggressive in  cutting operating costs. Though technically this is a strength, they have chosen to end virtually all advertising outside of the local area and have let many of the rooms  fall into a shabby state of disrepair. * The business has an identity crisis. The campground suffers from an image of a truck stop; the motels name may be  outdated. Mr. Brown notes that some seem to associate the word "motel" with substandard conditions. * The interchange where the motel and campground are located is a dying one
