    It has become general knowledge that the firm is now in possession of monetary resources that may be utilized for investment purposes. While the money can be used for some  other purpose, it is known that investing is the best possible way for a firm to grow. Today, many firms invest in other companies through direct acquisition, stock purchases and  through merger deals. Because this firm has not done so in the past, as it did not have access to additional cash resources, it is most prudent to hire a  firm to help in the endeavor. In evaluating the task at hand, it has come to our attention that this is not a simple endeavor, but rather something that  must be well thought out and researched. Evaluating investing companies is a rather difficult task and entails research as well as word of mouth evidence that an investment firm is  in fact a suitable match for this company. With that in mind, the following report provides a great deal of criteria that may be utilized in order to make an  appropriate decision for the company. II. Introduction In choosing investments, one is often prompted to seek advice. While some dabble in the stock market, and learn  as they go, firms that want to make investments, and have a substantial amount to invest, will either want to hire knowledgeable investment personnel or secure the services of  an investment firm. This is especially true for those firms where executives are novices in the endeavor. While firms may want to pick and choose stocks, or particular companies to  put their money on, hiring an advisor is a much more practical way for new firms, or firms seeking to expand, to act.
