All of these factors associated with criminal intelligence requires that information retrieved be used in ways that allow for careful analysis and  critical thinking in order to learn more about the psychology of criminal thinking. Such a process also leads to a greater measure of understanding regarding critical reasoning as associated with  understanding the "logic" of criminal psychology and intent. Furthermore, it should be understood that "criminal intelligence" has become as viable a concept as "foreign intelligence" or "corporate espionage." The point  being that the greater degree of information available about any "alien" entity can always serve as information for those who have the awareness and the capability to use it.  Criminal Intelligence Analysis and Critical Thinking According to information offered at the Internet home page of Interpol (2002), the intergovernmental agency that works to fight against transnational crime: "Criminal intelligence  analysis began in North America. In the 1960s, organized crime became a real threat to society and was described in the Presidents Crime Commission report on the Task Force on  Organized Crime" (Internet source). The conclusions reached in that report were that traditional forms of were fundamentally ineffectual in terms of how it attempted to deal with organized crime (Internet  source). The result was the development of a number of intelligence programs that establish certain criminal analysis techniques (Internet source). It should be understood that criminal intelligence analysis utilizes  certain fundamental analysis procedures in which a hypothesis is established, the events of the crime are reconstructed, possible other criminal connections are considered and then all aspects of the analysis  are considered within the scope of known criminal activity or the networks of crime that are known to exist.
