    is that black and white relationships have become more common in recent times. Of course, before exploring the topic, it pays to note that both Othello and O.J. Simpson were  seen as murderers. Some expound on such ideas to reinforce their prejudicial notions as they see black men as evil. In fact, for some time, people have been afraid of  young black men in part because media has portrayed black men as people to be feared. Clearly, white America is perhaps less ready for interracial dating. Although that may be  the case, some evidence finds quite the opposite situation. Director James Toback released a film called Black and White (Brunner, 2000). Brunner claims that Toback, who also wrote the script,  is celebrating the power of hip-hop as well as interracial sex in an effort to conquer bigotry (2000). Indeed, one would think that if interracial relationships are encouraged, that can  help to close the gap between the races. After all, if people marry others from different racial groups often enough, it would be no longer unique to be mulatto. Toback  says regarding the music and dress: " I think it is completely changing the whole social order in a way that makes even passive bigotry totally unacceptable to anyone who  isnt a kind of a professed Neanderthal. Its changed the sexual culture completely, which is the key to race, because as soon as you have interracial sex to a degree  where it isnt even an issue and you start with mass interracial sex, then the races become indistinguishable" (2000, p.41). Toback is clearly an idealist. Yes, if only  race were so mixed up that one could not tell what anyone was, race would not be an issue in society. Of course, the fact is that race is a
