    conditions associated with obesity, such as diabetes, heart disease and hypertension. By establishing this criteria for participant inclusion, the proposed research delimits the study population to a sample of women  that would have a high motivation to alter their lifestyles and health habits in order to offset the potential negative side effects of these conditions. While this criteria successfully narrows  the range of focus for this research endeavor, this criteria also entails the inclusion of a potential limitation. In most cases, individuals who have been diagnosed with a disease such  as diabetes, heart disease, etc., have been informed/educated by their healthcare provider of the necessity to reduce weight and make lifestyle changes as part of a prescribed regimen. Therefore, the  original health beliefs of the individual, i.e., the beliefs that fostered the lifestyle habits that contributed to the condition of obesity, have been altered through a health-related intervention. Whether or  not this has occurred can be addressed in the study instrument by asking the participant is she has received such an educational intervention and understood its meaning. In conjunction with  this limitation, it may be that the educational material offered by different care providers differed in content and focus. Another limitation would be the fact that, in all likelihood,  the research team will use a convenience sample of women recruited from a specific geographical area, and the team may choose to limit the inclusion criteria to women who speak  and write English or by ethnicity or socio-economic level. While these delimitations of the study sample aid in formulating results that are revealing about the experience and reality of the  women in the study, this also narrows the applicability of the result towards applying conclusions to the general population.
