    his career much too early. Versace was a flamboyant man and created works that definitely eluded to this creative, hip side. His clothes were celebrated by all walks  of life and were decidedly sexy - even to the point of vulgarity on many occasions. Throughout his years in fashion design, Versaces style grew, changed and morphed to include  many new visions. As time went on, his clothes became a bit more subdued although continued to retain the hallmark of Versace which was vivid color, sexiness and boldness.  Many of his fashions reveal a lot of skin and exhibit the human form as much as the clothing itself. This designer experienced a great deal of success in  his life and was loved by many. He was particularly popular with stars in the Hollywood crowd and designed for many of them. Another passion of Versaces was  designing for the theater and he did this on many occasions while receiving much acclaim for his work. His life tragically ended in Miami Beach, where he resided, when serial  killer Andrew Cunanan shot him execution style right in front of his home. Versace died immediately and Cunanan was on the loose for a few days before taking his  own life. The tradition and style of Versace lives on and now his sister, Donatella, runs the company which is as successful as ever.  Gianni Versace was born in Reggio Calabria, Italy, on December 2, 1946 (Gianni Versace, See also A Short Biography). His mother was a dressmaker and  his introduction into the fashion world was through an apprenticeship with her (Gianni Versace). It was his mother who showed the young Versace about dressmaking and imparted with him
