    The Greek and Romans also invoked the powers of deities and it can be found to be very interesting how they used their powers of magic to obtain the results  they wanted. THE EARLY GREEKS AND ROMANS In reading the early history of both the Greek and Roman civilizations we can find that mankind at that time simply seemed  to put symbolic feet to the wills of the Gods. Because of this, it appears that there is not much freedom of human action; and yet, the Gods simply  give the guidance and there is indeed human action, and human decision on the type action that actually takes place. Humankind, the Romans and Greek civilizations believed, is simply  the mortal earthbound to do the deeds the Gods decree. But this does not mean that humans do not have free will. They do, and whether or not  they choose to do the bidding of the Gods always awaits to be seen. In looking at the written works of that time period we can see that the similarities  between the Oresteia Trilogy and the Old Testament are many yet varied. Like the Aeneid, we see that most actions are based on what is dictated by gods or  by fate. There is little human determination as to what manner of action should take place. And yet, it is human decision that causes the action to take  place. Obviously, these early written works depend more on myth and the acts of gods and fates than that of a simple historical lesson on the morality of man acting  alone without guidance. While this early literature is highly dependent upon mythology, it is sometimes difficult to separate the myth of gods and fate from that of what is
