This negative connotation of individualism - which is to maintain an independence from the norm - has cast an even darker meaning  upon striving to achieve ones own distinctiveness. Clearly, the significance of delivery safety is paramount to Dominos future presence within the pizza industry. There was a time when  the clever marketing strategy of timed delivery was a viable format; however, with the obvious incentives for speed and penalty for the lack thereof, the entire aspect has become out  of control. Dominos spokesman Ron Hingst demonstrated the companys hesitancy to act in a socially responsible way when he commented that as soon as they are convinced of the association  of death and delivery that the timed program will be removed. A prudent individual need only look at the statistics based upon performance of the companys seventy-five thousand drivers,  as well as the motivation for their quickness. The most appropriate alternative for Dominos to adopt is one that removes the timed incentive for delivery while at the same  time increases the drivers base pay to an amount that does not depend upon gratuities in order to make it worthwhile. II. SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE APPROACH  Because society is fundamentally based upon performance and profit, it is not unusual to find that corporate individualism works as an opposing force rather than one that  works to help the industry. The selfishness Dominos exudes by refusing to remove - or even revamp - its timed delivery program is significantly associated with the social and  political increase of corporate individualism. Easily recognizable are the effects of such individualistic tendencies, in that people are far too concerned with their own well being to be concerned
