    a realist while one is an idealist. This paper discusses which one is which and why. The numerous subjects included are not only the past events each of  these men has contributed to but also mentions Camp David, the Mitchell Plan, and more. IDEALISM VS. REALISM Realism, of course, is a concern for fact or  reality and rejection of the impractical and visionary, while idealism implies that if it is true in theory or in the mind it can be considered reality. Idealism is a  philosophy that employs the conscious desire to change the world. Issues such as national security, arms control, global economy, foreign policy, and peace efforts have, indeed, been grounded in  an idealistic composure that befits a similar society. Continuing forth in the devastating manner in which humanity has approached such critical components as world peace, economic solidarity and global  safety has set forth the spiral of grave disaster for the world in the twenty-first century. How does this relate to the concepts of idealism and realism? One  only needs to understand the nature of the two as a means by which to apply it to something as significant as these world concerns. Inasmuch as humanity seeks  to attain a better existence for itself, it has inadvertently caused a domino effect when it comes to such personal pursuits. It can then readily be argued that the  idealistic aspect of these particular concerns addresses more of the need to change ones own individual reality at the great expense of the world at large.
