H0 = There is no relationship between the age of  adults and the number of hospital visits undertaken in a year. 1.2 Justification By assessing the link between hospital visits and age there is the ability to add  valuable data to the way in which hospital resources are allocated to different areas and to assess the potential level of resources that are needed. 1.3 Limitations  The subject of the study is a very large population, therefore there are potential dangers unless the sample chosen can be fully representative of  the entire population.
