raised from observing the behaviour of this employee, both with regard to the organisational structure of the company and with regard to the employee himself. For example, although a lack  of responsibility is demonstrated in several areas, some of these could be seen as more serious than others. If employees are issued with sets of keys, for instance, it could  be considered a serious breach of company discipline to lend these keys to others. It is mentioned that Coreys keys were not available to unlock the laptop cage because he  had given them to someone else to unlock his car: it is not good policy to keep ones work and personal keys together, for security reasons.  Corey also seems to have some difficulty conforming to  the various structures set out by the company as regards leaving work because of illness, taking time off, and socialising during working hours. This may be because he is deliberately  flouting rules which he is well aware of, or it may be that management has not impressed upon him the seriousness of failing to obey the companys regulations. Again, there  are wider issues brought into the equation: just as security issues were raised with the matter of the keys, health and safety concerns can be seen in the fact that  Corey asserts that he has smelled gas. It is perhaps worth noting that the priority, according to the case study, is Coreys leaving work early rather than the far more  serious matter of gas fumes, and another employee "passing out". This might well indicate that the company itself is focusing on comparatively trivial issues whilst ignoring far more serious ones.
