The atmosphere of an organization is directly related to the culture of and the means of communication used in the learning process of inclusion for minorities  and women. The new millennium presents a number of challenges as well as opportunities for this population within the world of business. Understanding the interplay of gender, ethnicity,  and power as it relates to the social constructs that define every day life enables the individual to gain a better understanding of some of the shortcomings in gender and  ethnically defined roles within the corporate world. Thesis: The corporation that is willing to change its culture to one where diversity is valued will incorporate strategies to just such  an end. The status of women, race relations and moral values are just three of the many areas where change has been monumental from the nineteenth to the  twentieth centuries. Equal rights has been the foundation for positive change in the social structure as the 19th century moved into the twentieth. The responses of large business  organizations to the changing nature of the workforce over the last 25 years includes "the move away from traditional bureaucratic to more innovative structural forms which has characterized the whole  of this period; the 1980s concern with corporate culture as a controlling and enabling mechanism; the subsequent fashion for outsourcing and downsizing and the rise of interest in the network  organization; the parallel but contrasting concern with ideas of organizational learning and core competence; changing approaches to corporate governance; and changes in the patterns of career structures and career expectations"  (Hendry, 1999, pp. 557). The representation of women and ethnic minorities in the workforce would entail accelerated growth . Many organizations have embraced diversity in the workforce at
