    company is one that has always dealt with employees in a fair and equitable manner. It never wanted compensation to be an issue so it treated employees fairly. In fact,  its systems were more than fair and by most accounts, everyone was happy. The company instituted policies in line with its vision of right action. With policies and anecdotal  information relayed, it becomes clear that the policy of right action includes the admonition to be honest in all things. In fact, the company turned down one overseas challenge because  it would require fudging numbers to avoid taxation. This ethical company wanted no part of that, and through the years the firm was able to handle all dilemmas that came  its way. However, it is currently presented with an important problem which is that to be fair, they feel that compensation packages will have to be revamped. However, to do  this fairly, some individuals will have to effectively take home about half their normal salary. At fist glance, the thought is unconscionable. The people who will have to endure  pay cuts have families and mortgagees. How can the company cut salaries so much, particularly since the firm has thrived on a policy that went to being kind and fair  to their staff? In fact, in the case study it is noted that some staff hired turned down positions in other firms to work at Wetherill. Certainly, Wetherill owes its  employees at least their current compensation, if not a more substantial package as they express their loyalty to the firm. What was on the minds of executives when the proposition  came up? It seems that, according to the case study, sales staff were on a straight salary even though that paradigm was unusual for the industry. The issue is
