In light of this, Americas latch key kids and single-parent homes are ever on the rise. In the former example, both parents are compelled  to work for those extras that everybody wants; therefore children are relegated to the latch key status. Moreover, in single-parent homes often one parent has abandoned the family because  the financial situation affecting the family has become intolerable. In essence, the impact of not having what one deems enough in the way of financial resources often directly contributes  to a familys demise. Additionally, those lower income families who do manage to stay intact -- for the youngsters and parents alike -- it must be tantamount to being  trapped. Our era has prompted most to believe that yesterdays luxuries are indeed todays necessities. By way of two acclaimed literary works, Arthur Millers Death of A  Salesman, and Tillie Olsens I Stand Here Ironing, this essay examines the impacting issues relevant to the familial needs to make more money.  Tragically, the story of Millers, Willy Loman is not an unusual one. Daily, innumerable families are faced with the catastrophe that life has somehow passed them by and
