Bibliography lists 11 sources.  JGAdaids.rtf HIV/AIDS in Dade County, Florida Research Compiled for Enterprises Inc. 11/2001 to Use This  Paper Properly, PROBLEM STATEMENT This paper addresses the problem of the alarming increase of HIV/AIDS in the minority communities in Dade County Florida. Addresses the  action by Carrie Meeks, the regions congresswoman. Also discussed are the innovative new ways to educate as well as the cutting edge effective outreach for education/testing particularly in the  black community. Variables show the rates of infection are higher in the black community; the supporting research will help to show why this is so. HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE The  Miami-Dade County area in which the student is interested is technically the zip code areas in which congresswoman Carrie Meeks oversees. Over time, this area has had four separate  areas "for planning for HIV/AIDS services" (AIDS Summit PG). This was later pared down to just one organization which handles all aspects of the community, and the goals of  the Miami/Dade HIV/AIDS Partnership are as follows: * Assess the communitys needs with regard to HIV/AIDS prevention, health and supportive services, and housing. * Develop a community-wide  comprehensive plan for HIV/AIDS. * Develop a community-wide HIV prevention plan. * Establish service priorities for HIV/AIDS care and treatment and for prevention. *  Allocate funds to the areas of greatest need (AIDS Summit PG).
