    Summary of the research paper:

    A 9 page paper. This paper discusses four interrelated topics. The first is an explanation of the Panopticon. This discussion is expanded into the amount of surveillance of regular citizens there is today, the vast number of cameras that are snapping people’s pictures all the time. The Patriot Act is discussed in terms of some of its provisions giving a wider berth to law enforcement and intelligence agencies. The paper then discuses Foucault’s thoughts on power, biopower, and sovereign power and biopolitics. The paper gives an example of sovereign power using China’s one-child policy and the results of that policy. Bibliography lists 8 sources.
