The introduction or more channels  that was made possible as a result of the digital age made these practices even more acceptable in the eyes of the consumer, with the perception of the different repeats  and formats changing greatly. When we look at the take up of the role of the video recorder the acceptance and take  up of the equipment in the mainstream was heralded, but took time for it to reach a level of maturity in the market place.
