Some of the  topics considered are the risks that are involved, the different laws that affect the businesses, the currency concerns, taxes and freight information. THE JOINT VENTURE: AN OVERVIEW This joint  venture is a partnership between two companies in two different countries. The AAA Company is located in Guatemala, and the BBB Company is located in Korea. They produce  paperclips and sell them all over the world. One of the concerns of the joint ventures is that of the constantly changing import-export laws as well as licensing and  tariffs. Of course the decision to expand globally is one that requires much research and aforethought, but one of the considerations  few people seem to initially think of is that of staffing the new business. The recruitment and selection process required in recruiting employees from abroad sometimes is a complicated  one. The nations position in factors of production, such as skilled labor or infrastructure, is necessary to compete in a given industry.  This affects AAA and BBB primarily in the employees they need to hire. And as more and more companies expand into Korea to do business, there is a growing  concern that the CEOs of these companies need to learn to communicate more effectively with their Korean employees.
