Obviously,  they were correct in their predictions. Such is also the case in terms of the positive results on sales and manufacturing that can result from the establishment of a  global logistics network. The development of integrated global logistics networks for a vast array of types of businesses and organizations and the ongoing technological advancement related to such integration efforts  have been key factors in the progression of the computer industry and the ease and efficiency by which businesses and individuals have become comfortable in the "information age." No longer  just for crunching numbers, writing memos, or searching databases, the computer has now virtually (pun intended) become a communications device, enabled by the high-speed modem standard on nearly every new  PC. The powerful combination of fast Internet connections and powerful, easy-to-use PCs, as well as the ongoing development and integration of applications have all contributed to the truly amazing expansion  in the use of the Internet and on-line services by the average American worker.
