For example, auto makers tend to build cars  differently in Sweden, a country with stronger environmental regulations, than in the United States, which doesnt insist on laws that are as strong.  The same thing has occurred in the area of video games; particularly as these games and consoles are created, manufactured and marketed. As more and more companies are attempting  to market their consoles and games overseas, the more they are finding they have to adapt to the various manufacturing and production markets of each country. For one thing, style  counts - what might be considered cutting edge and wonderful in the United States could be considered almost frightening to someone in Japan or even a continent such as Africa  This paper will provide some examples of companies that are both manufacturing and marketing their products overseas, and to note how the  concept of globalization is making some of these video game creators and manufacturers rethink their global positioning strategy; as well as how they package and produce their products. The Cost  of Realism There is little doubt that competition is a given factor among most businesses that are attempting to globalize. However, the  most brutal battles seem to be fought within the video games industry, both among game console manufacturers as well as video game creators and distributors. It seems as though every  holiday season is an excuse for a new video game - or a new console box that can operate bigger, better, more colorful and faster games. With the games -
