    as a result of global warming. Of course, we all know there are some other reasons, like clear-cutting, the cutting of rain forests, and too often, poaching and killing. Still,  we should all know that the earth is an ecology and all species are interdependent. Species of flora and fauna are also interdependent with the climate. While some scientists are  researching how to stop the damage to the environment and the ecology, others are arguing that global warming is a myth and if there really are any changes, it is  just the cyclical nature of the earth herself. This is partly true. Scientists have shown that the earth has had cycles of hearing up and cooling down over the millennia  (Anonymous 4). For example, there were increased solar activities that unfroze the seas between 1100 and 1250, which gave the Vikings opportunity to cross the sea and conquer Greenland and  other territories (Anonymous 4). A small or mini ice age began in the 13th century and lasted until the 19th century (Anonymous 4). Cycles of freezing and melting have been  thoroughly researched and documented empirically. Global is a crucial global topic that every nation needs to consider. The United Nations published a document in which they stated their belief that  the increasing severity and frequency of floods, hurricanes, cyclones, typhoons, drought, and heavy rains is directly related to global warming (UNFCCC 2007). In other words, global warming is causing all  these excessive and severe storms. My purpose for writing this paper is to learn more of the facts about global warming. For instance, When did it begin? What exactly does  that phrase mean? Are global warming and climate change synonymous? If it is real, what started it and what is continuing it? What long-term effects will global warming have on
