In many instances when an individual, student or otherwise, is  choosing a company study it is very tempting to choose well-known firms; information is easy to collect and pre-conceived ideas will help form at the approach to the research. However,  in order to become successful smaller companies need to develop, often with entrepreneurial flair, to allow them to compete with larger existing companies within the market. The value in studying  a single company through developing a case study is not only gained by finding out about is that company and understanding the way the company works, it is also within  the research active staff. Therefore, it may be argued that the research experience can be maximized by choosing a company which is not well covered within the media. In this  report the company chosen is Guayaki Sustainable Rainforest Products, is a relatively small company which appears to be growing rapidly offering a range of highly differentiated drinks. It is a  case study which demonstrates that there can be alignment between ethical business, supported the environment as well as making a profit and satisfy customers; aspects of business which are often  seen as diametrically opposed. As a small company trying to break into new markets can compete with large well-known brands the company has had to use of resources it has  in effective and innovative ways to facilitate its growth. This makes the study of Guayaki as interesting, due to the broad dimensions of the case study and its potential to  be different compared to many mainstream case studies which found in business strategy and management books. 2.
