The company  benefits from a good rewards system, and the use of technology but has high overheads, which may be seen as a weakness, There is the opportunity to increase business especially  in the leisure market as a result of the political, social and environmental conditions in New Zealand and the current differentiation strategy. 1. Introduction Hilton are a well  known global chain of Hotels with several interests in New Zealand, including the well known Auckland as well as the recently opened hotel at Lake Taupo (Hilton, 2009) .  In order to survive and thrive there is a need for the hotel to develop and adapt to their environment, this is especially true when there are difficult economic climates  and the hotels are competing for business in both the business and the leisure sector. To consider the way fir firm competes the environment within which it prepares may  be considered and the strengths and weaknesses of the firm identified to assess where there is room for improvement and which areas may serve as a foundations in which to  build further successes. Hilton is an intentional company, and along with several subsidiary companies are involved in the management and ownership as well as development of resorts, hotels and  timeshare properties and in addition the company also offers a franchise scheme. The companys mission statement is "We will be the preeminent global hospitality company - the first choice of  guests, team members and owners alike" which demonstrates a commitment to a number of stakeholders, with an understanding that to be successful the head coaching needs to satisfy the guests,
